Xi made the remarks during a group study for the history of Chinese nation’s patriotism by the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

After listening to the lecture of philosophy historian Chen Lai with Tsinghua University, Xi said patriotism is the core of the ethos of the Chinese nation that is deeply rooted in its people’s mind and holds together the unity and solidarity of various ethnic groups in China.

在聆聽清華大學(xué)的哲學(xué)史家陳來教授的演講之后，習(xí)近平發(fā)表講話稱，愛國主義是中華民族精神的核心，它深深植根于中華民族的思想，維系著華夏大地上各個(gè)民族的團(tuán)結(jié)統(tǒng)一。

Xi said the CPC is the steadiest advocate and practitioner of patriotism, calling for making patriotism as an eternal theme in education, in a bid to make it as the firm belief and spiritual prop of each Chinese individual and be carried on from generation to generation.

習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，中國共產(chǎn)黨是愛國主義精神最堅(jiān)定的弘揚(yáng)者和實(shí)踐者，呼吁將愛國主義教育作為永恒的主題，從而使它成為每個(gè)中國人的堅(jiān)定信念和精神支柱，代代相傳，發(fā)揚(yáng)光大。

Advocating that patriotism must unify it with socialism, Xi said, adding that only by loving the country, the Party and socialism can patriotism be fresh and real.

習(xí)近平說，“弘揚(yáng)愛國主義精神，必須堅(jiān)持愛國主義和社會(huì)主義相統(tǒng)一?！辈⒀a(bǔ)充說，只有堅(jiān)持愛國和愛黨、愛社會(huì)主義相統(tǒng)一，愛國主義才是鮮活的、真實(shí)的。

"It is the most important representation of patriotism in current time," said Xi.

他說，“這是當(dāng)代中國愛國主義精神最重要的體現(xiàn)?！?span id="jxfbjvrd" class="style52">

He called for safeguarding national unity and solidarity among different ethnic groups, respecting and inheriting Chinese history and culture, and guiding the people to have correct views on history, the nation, the state and the culture, in a bid to strengthen the identity of the Chinese nation.

他呼吁各民族必須維護(hù)祖國統(tǒng)一和民族團(tuán)結(jié)，尊重和傳承中華民族歷史和文化，引導(dǎo)人民樹立和堅(jiān)持正確的歷史觀、民族觀、國家觀、文化觀，不斷增強(qiáng)中華民族的歸屬感。

In addition, Xi also called for opening up to the outside world and learning wisdom from other civilizations.

此外，習(xí)近平還提倡要面向世界，從不同的文明中尋求智慧，汲取營養(yǎng)。
